PHPSC Slashdotted
The PHP Security Consortium (PHPSC) received its first Slashdot post today. Chris was worried about whether the server could handle heavy traffic. I guess this will be its first true traffic test. If it can handle this, it can handle just about anything.

I like that – “first Slashdot post” – as if there are many more to come.
We didn’t get a full-fledged Slashdotting, since it was after peak hours and in the developers section. Ivan says Slashdot can generate 40-50 requests per second under normal circumstances, and we got nowhere near that. I still think we can probably handle it, but I’m just not completely comfortable with this whole virtual dedicated host thing yet.
